Expand Worldwide Presence

In today’s increasingly global economy, independent schools must look beyond national boundaries and actively welcome prospective students from around the world. Barriers such as language, customs, and lack of standardized assessment can be a barrier for many schools, especially those with limited resources.

No matter where your school is located, it needs admission success to thrive. SSATB is a pioneer in admission support, from standardized testing to online inquiry and application support, to helping schools market themselves in an increasingly small world.

SSAT tests students annually in countries around the world.

SSATB’s global expansion mandate was inspired by the desire to better meet the needs of schools in reaching and testing international students, to provide member schools with additional resources to facilitate the admission process, and to allow families throughout the world the ease of using one source to identify, test for and apply to independent schools.

Online Inquiry Service

As the world becomes smaller, it also embraces technology. SSATB supports the use of a paperless inquiry process by creating a web-based portal through which students and families can submit inquiries to schools. Prospective students can use a customizable online form through ssat.org to find out more about your school. Receive inquiries electronically, and save time, paper, and the manpower needed to organize them. Schools can tailor their online inquiries with a logo and opening and ending messages.

Regional Testing Programs

In several regions throughout the USA and Canada, member schools have joined forces to host common test administrations for students in their area.

SSAT Website

The SSAT Student Web Site – http://www.ssat.org/ – is one of the most highly-trafficked web sites in independent schooling in the world. Students and families come to the site for:

  • Test Registration and Preparation
  • School Search
  • Schools Currently Considering Applicants (SCCA) List
  • School Inquiry Service
  • The Standard Application Online

All member schools are listed in an online, searchable database housed on the SSAT student registration web site. School database entries contain vital information about each school, such as mission and enrollment, and contain a direct link to the school’s web site. For those schools that accept SSATB-generated inquiries and applications, links to the inquiry and application submission forms are also available within each school’s entry.

Search for schools

By the Numbers

On an annual basis:

  • nearly 1,000,000 visits are made to the site
  • over 20,000 school searches are performed
  • over 500 schools receive inquiry forms from students via the site
  • over 250 schools receive online applications from students
