The SSAT is the gold standard of admission testing – a highly effective and useful tool for schools and families. Yet the mission of SSATB is broader than a test. SSATB uses the admission test to connect to and support the overall independent school admission process.

Our organization was built by and for admission professionals with three goals in mind: to provide a forum for exchange and support among admission professionals, to create a test, and to assist parents and students in their independent school search. SSATB’s member support, professional development, student services, and cutting-edge technologies are a testament to that connection and commitment to independent school admission.

Professional Support

Not only does SSATB provide important perspectives and data on the applicant pool and on an applicant’s potential academic success, it offers important perspectives and data on a school’s competitive position and potential market position through a variety of school-specific studies and reports. In addition, SSATB offers the only annual, members-only conference focused exclusively on admission networking, information and training – The Annual Meeting. Our Outreach Directors are focused on helping members do their jobs: providing guidance and advice, assistance with SSATB services, and information about current trends and practices.
