This depends upon your student's SSAT test level.

Encourage your Elementary Level child (grades 3-4) to try to answer every question, making their best guesses about the questions of which they are unsure. There are no penalties for wrong answers when taking the Elementary Level SSAT.

For the Middle or Upper Level SSAT (grades 5-7 and 8-11) students are penalized for incorrect answers so they should generally only guess if they can eliminate 2 or more answer choices.
