Since 1957, the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) has set the gold standard for private school admission assessments.
We proudly provide three convenient and fair testing options for families, along with official study materials to help students achieve their best. The SSAT is also available with accommodations and fee waivers for qualified test takers.
Choose the SSAT testing option that works best for your family. While the Elementary Level SSAT for students in grades three and four is paper-based only, the Middle and Upper Level versions are available in the following formats. Please note that the testing year that defines the maximum number of SSAT tests students can take runs from August 1 through July 31.
Our official SSAT practice materials are created by The Enrollment Management Association, the organization that develops the SSAT. Start by logging into our portal and taking the free 30-minute, online mini-test to identify areas for improvement. Then, dig in with an online subscription to our study materials and four full-length practice tests, or utilize the resources in our SSAT Guide Books.
We are committed to ensuring that reasonable SSAT accommodations are available when necessary. Any student diagnosed with, or suspected of having a disabling condition or impairment that substantially limits their ability to perform a major life activity, may be eligible to receive testing accommodations when completing the SSAT. Major life activities include but are not limited to seeing, hearing, speaking, reading, concentrating, thinking, communicating, and learning.
We believe all students deserve an opportunity to apply to private schools, and we provide more than $2 million in fee waivers annually to make this possible. To see if your family qualifies, please request a fee waiver from the admissions office of a school to which you are applying. If the school approves your request, simply enter the provided fee waiver code on the SSAT registration payment page.
In addition to removing the testing fee for any paper-based or digital SSAT, the waiver also applies to our online practice materials and Admission Academy, which become available after you've registered for the SSAT using the fee waiver.
