Scan the answer choices, since they are generally short and provide excellent clues. If an answer choice refers you to a specific line in the passage, underline that line for reference.

Read Each Passage Carefully. Follow the author’s reasoning. Notice attitude, tone, and general style.
4. Recognize Word Choice
Pay attention to words such as always, never, every, and none. They may play an important role in the answer.
5. Important Details
Identify the topic of each paragraph, key facts, and the author’s purpose for writing. Underline the key facts for quick reference.
6. Selecting an Answer
Read all answer choices carefully before you choose. When you find an answer choice that fails to satisfy the requirements of the question or statement, cross it out.
