ISEE Accommodations
ISEE will make every effort to accommodate students who are unable to take the ISEE under standard conditions due to a documented disability.
Requesting Accommodations
Submit your accommodations request at least several weeks in advance to allow for the time and support needed to complete the process. Once an application is complete, review and approval can take one to two weeks — submissions with incomplete or insufficient documentation may take longer. Approved accommodations are valid for 24 months from the date of approval. Accommodations are not flagged on your student's score report.

Start your request as early as possible. Approved accommodations are valid for the full testing year, and accommodations are not flagged on your student's score report. There are three steps to requesting accommodations.
Request accommodations
Create or log in to your parent account and add your student. From your student's dashboard, select the Accommodations toggle, then click New Request in the Active Accommodations section to begin.

Upload documents
On the Accommodations Request Detail screen, download the Current School Statement form and the supporting documentation requirements. Follow the instructions in those forms to upload everything for formal review.

Register for a test
Once your student is approved, register for a test that offers those accommodations. We cannot guarantee that every test site will offer all of your accommodations.

Any student with a documented disability may be eligible to receive accommodations on the ISEE. A disability is a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity or bodily function. Temporary conditions are generally not eligible for accommodations unless they substantially limit a major life activity.
Supporting Documentation
Submit at least one of the following forms of supporting documentation:
IEP / 504 / Private School Plan
Must detail a student who routinely receives specific accommodations due to a disability, and be dated within the last 3 years.
Professional Evaluation
Documentation from a licensed or otherwise properly credentialed professional who has completed an individualized assessment of your student, dated within the last 3 years.
Past Approvals on Similar Tests
Proof of approved testing accommodations on a similar standardized test (SSAT, HSPT, SAT, ACT, PSAT) within the last 3 years.
Current School Statement
Current School Statement
Describes the accommodations your student currently receives for school-based tests. It must be completed by an administrator or specialist at your student's current school — including virtual or homeschool settings — and is found on Page 3 of the ISEE Accommodations Request Form.

Not all accommodations can be offered in every testing environment or test format. Students who are approved for accommodations should register for a test that offers them.

Students approved for this accommodation can click the microphone icon on the exam toolbar to dictate their essay.
Please note this accommodation is not available on Chromebooks at this time. Available on online and at-home tests. Not available at Prometric Test Centers.

Students approved for this accommodation may receive “other” accommodations that they are currently using in school like access to graph paper. These supplies must be provided by the family. ERB does not provide testing accommodation supplies. Available on paper, at-home, and in-person online tests. Not available at Prometric Test Centers. Examples of other accommodations include:
- Graphic Organizer - provided by family View sample
- Math Reference Sheet - provided by family View sample
- Multiplication Table - provided by family View sample
- Preferential Seating – the student is seated in close proximity to the Test Administrator at the front of the testing room.
If a student is formally approved for the accommodation of "Graphic Organizer - provided by family", "Math Reference Sheet - provided by family" or "Multiplication Table - provided by family" on the ISEE, they should first check with their school/teacher to obtain a copy of the one typically provided to them in school, but these samples are provided if needed.
