A Birthplace of Innovation

Cranbrook is one of the birthplaces of innovation. From Cranbrook's visionary founders George and Ellen Booth, to legendary architect Eliel Saarinen, sculptors Carl Milles and Marshall Fredericks, and design pioneers Charles and Ray Eames, innovators have provided the perfect environment for inquisitive students to grow, discover, and create.

From this vantage, Cranbrook Schools has always leveraged resources necessary for a truly formidable education, one that is both timeless and timely, one that cultivates thoroughly modern and essential habits of mind and heart: resilience, curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.

Cranbrook Schools students benefit from the many resources on our 339-acre campus. In addition to the Institute of Science and Art Museum, classes take advantage of the many nature trails and beautiful gardens, an award-winning natatorium, and a recently renovated ice arena.

Real Talk

I lived in the dorms during my four years at Cranbrook and it was the best choice I made for myself. At Cranbrook, I learned skills beyond those taught in the classroom. I learned how to collaborate with my peers and build strong connections that I know will last a lifetime. I felt so prepared for college after Cranbrook's rigorous curriculum and committed teaching staff.

Going to Cranbrook was an incredible experience. My teachers were always invested in my learning, which prepared me well for college-level academics. Additionally, Cranbrook offered a wider range of extracurricular activities than other schools. These activities were really positively impactful on my development.
