The step-by-step SSAT accommodations approval process for designated approvers.

Yes. Readers are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for all SSAT test modes. This NDA must be completed and returned for the test to be scored.

Please login to your online SSAT parent account and return to the pending application for accommodations to upload supporting documentation electronically.

The permitted/required use of a computer to complete testing varies depending on test mode. Please review all rules and regulations for the laptop at SSAT.org.

A four-function calculator should contain only basic functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

No. Students are permitted to take the Snapshot at their own pace and may receive assistance in taking it, as needed.

No. SSAT score reports do not provide any indication that a student testing with accommodation nor will this protected information be shared for any reason.

No. The approval of accommodations is to ensure access to accommodations on test day, but students may choose which, if any, accommodations they wish to use.

Students requiring access to epi-pens or inhalers for emergency purposes ONLY are not required to request access to these items as an accommodation.

The "Other" entry fields allow families to request accommodations or list disabling conditions beyond those listed on the application.

Approved students are permitted to record all answers directly in the test book rather than transferring answers to a corresponding answer sheet.

Any student approved for access to 50% additional time will receive this increased amount of time so long as they have been registered for accommodated testing.

Please provide your student with either a USB flash drive or a rewritable CD on which to store their written work upon completion on test day.

Yes. Anyone may serve in the role of reader and/or scribe for your child on test day so long as they have not also provided direct SSAT test preparation.

An untimed testing administration is not possible as this places an undue burden on our organization and the test site administering the test.

No. Any student who is limited English proficient or an English Language Learner, is not eligible to receive testing accommodations on the SSAT.

Direct Access indicates when a student's application has met all criteria to allow the application to be approved without submission of supporting documentation

No. Accommodations approved during a given testing season will be available for testing through the end of that testing season (August 1st - July 31st).

You may choose to submit a new application for the new testing accommodations or you may contact EMA at TA@enrollment.org to see if they may be added without.

Testing accommodations are valid for only the current testing season, which ends on July 31st.

Yes. Any student with an identified or suspected disabling condition or impairment may apply for accommodation(s) on the SSAT.

Students in need of testing with accommodations are required to apply AND receive approval for any accommodations they may need when taking the SSAT.

No. It is the responsibility of a student's family to provide all equipment, materials, and personnel to support approved accommodations for all test modes.

In general, allow two weeks from the date of submission for the review and processing of your student's application for testing accommodations.

An approver is a qualified individual familiar with a student's disability and has supporting documentation on file with their organization.

Students MUST be approved for their respective testing accommodations BEFORE they will be permitted to register for the SSAT with accommodations.

It is best to consult with teacher(s), therapy provider(s), and/or medical professionals familiar with your student's condition and educational testing needs.

Any documentation which highlights your student's educational testing needs resulting from an identified disability or impairment may be considered.
